The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Student and Young Professional (IEEE IES SYP) Congress is a key event that brings together students, young professionals, academia, and industry leaders. The 2025 edition will take place from 15-17 August 2025, in Tunis, Tunisia.
Funding will be available for student and YP members of IES to attend, helping to cover expenses such as airfare, registration fees for the congress, accommodation, visa fees, and transportation costs.
This congress serves as a platform for professional development, technical sessions, networking opportunities, and collaboration between IEEE IES members worldwide.
Funding is available to support IES Student Members and Young Professionals in attending the congress. This funding will operate on a reimbursement basis and will cover:
Non-refundable Economy Class Tickets
related to the event
Including congress participation fees, hotel accommodation and meals during the congress
To be eligible to apply:
Be an active IEEE IES member
IEEE membership grade: Students, Graduate Students, or higher grade members who are Young Professionals (YP: Individuals within 15 years of their most recent diploma).
Provide all required supporting documents, including but not limited to, an updated CV and endorsement letters.
Submit their application before the deadline: 30 April 2025.

Important Note: All expenses must comply with Expense Reimbursement Guidelines for IEEE Volunteers. Any expenses outside of the eligible categories will not be covered.
The selection committee will evaluate all applications based on:
Evaluation of volunteering activities and leadership roles within IEEE and IES.
Strength and quality of endorsement letters from IEEE and IES leadership.
Ensuring diversity across regions, sections, IES chapters and IES student branch chapters.
Priority will be given to ensure a fair representation of each Region through the fund. Subsequently, efforts will be made to have a fair representation of each Section within the Regions and each IES Chapter and IES Student Branch Chapter. The goal is to achieve comprehensive inclusivity across all levels of the IEEE IES community.
Selected applicants will be notified of their approved reimbursement amount upon confirmation of acceptance.
Following the event, valid receipts and invoices must be submitted via IEEE Concur.
Expenses must align with Expense Reimbursement Guidelines for IEEE Volunteers.
All participants are expected to adhere to the IEEE Code of Ethics.
Must have registered for the congress by the deadline specified in their acceptance notification.
Full attendance in congress workshops, panels, sessions and activities is required.
Participate in the poster session.
Based on their location and travel distance.
Note: Final reimbursement amounts will vary based on location and travel distance. Specific funding details will be provided in the acceptance notification.
All selected participants must prepare and present a poster during the congress. If multiple participants from the same IEEE Organizational Unit (OU) are attending the event, they are encouraged to collaborate on a single poster to represent their collective initiatives and achievements.
